Sources in the Ministry of Finance of the Presidential Council (PC) confirmed that the Finance Minister Faraj Bumtari has offered his resignation to the PC on Tuesday.
The ministry spokesman Radwan al-Oreibi clarified in a press statement that the PC did not decide yet whether to accept Bumtari's resignation.
In a letter addressed to Sarraj, Bumtari explained the motives and reasons behind his decision to depart, including the obstacles faced by the ministry in supporting the economic reform program, as well as excluding the ministry from many issues, especially when economic decisions are taken.
