Member of the High Council of State (HCS) Wahid Barchan, revealed that a security official had prevented a meeting from taking place in Tripoli between members of the House of Representatives (HoR) and the HCS.

Al-Nabaa news channel quoted Berchan Monday as saying that the meeting was to discuss practical steps to find an alternative to the Presidential Council after a number of MPs threatened to withdraw confidence from it.

Berchan added that the security official stormed the meeting venue and insisted to be present under the pretext of declaring a state of emergency in the capital, noting that more than 30 members of the HoR and HCS were at the meeting at the time.
