Tripoli, Misurata, and Sirte witnessed mass demonstrations on Friday to denounce plans for a new transitional stage.

The demonstrators called for holding elections and raised slogans demanding the overthrow of the House of Representatives.

They voiced their rejection of the Parliament-approved parallel government led by Fathi Bashagha, describing it as Aqila Saleh -the Parliament's Speaker- government.

In Misurata, the city's residents and sheiks affirmed their categorical rejection of what was issued by the House of Representatives to grant confidence to the parallel government, saying this intends to extend the mandate of the current political bodies.
