The Libyan Navy rescued 117 illegal migrants, including 18 children, from aboard a rubber boat 45 miles north of the coast of Khums city.

"The immigrants who were of different African nationalities were disembarked at Tripoli Naval Base in the early hours of Wednesday," Navy spokesman Ayoub Qassem said in a press statement.

The migrants were provided with humanitarian and medical assistance, before being handed over to the Illegal Immigration Control Centre of Ain Zara.
