Human rights activist, Emadeddin Zahri Muntasser, said in a press statement that significant developments have been made in the complaint file submitted to the US Department of Justice against Khalifa Hafar in his capacity as an American citizen.

Muntasser said that the cases brought before the American or international courts must be supported by broad popular movements.

He added that such movements will pressure the international political parties that may try to hamper the course of the law.

Muntasser revealed that many legal activists are seeking to hold accountable military leaders involved in war crimes in Libya, particularly in Benghazi, but the lack of a mass and permanent movements hinder their endeavors.
