The Ministry of the Interior of the Government of National Unity has confirmed the rescue of 70 illegal immigrants of different African nationalities, who were on a rubber boat heading to European shores.
In a statement published by its media office, the ministry said that the General Department of Coastal Security received a distress call from the immigrants and immediately sent one of its boats to carry out rescue operations.
The immigrants were transferred to the Anti-Illegal Migration Agency, which will take care of them and complete the procedures for their deportation to their countries.
