Egypt's Minister of Manpower, Mohamed Saffan, said that his country would not send any Egyptian workers to Libya before reassuring the security of the areas in which they will work.

Saffan's remarks came in response to his Libyan counterpart's call for the return of Egyptian companies and their workers to Libya.

The Egyptian minister said on Wednesday that this invitation will be presented to his country’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs to obtain a pledge from the Libyan side and ensure the safety of the workers that would possibly go to Libya.

Earlier, the Minister of Labor and Rehabilitation of the Presidential Council, Mahdi Al-Amin, called on Egypt to return its workers and for their companies to begin participating in the reconstruction of Libya, saying that Libya was affected by labor migration as a result of the lack of security and stability.
