A Libyan Coast Guard patrol rescued 200 illegal immigrants of different nationalities on board a large wooden boat off the coast of Qarabulli town.

Libyan Navy spokesman, Ayoub Qasim, said the boat's engine broke down by large waves and that the number of migrants aboard was considered large.

Qasim added that the patrol used a small rubber boat to save them and that the patrol handled the rubber boat with caution as it was full of migrants until they reached the beach area of Qarabulli, where the Coast Guard point ensured the completion of hand over procedures to the Anti-Illegal Immigration Agency.
