Interior Minister Fathi Pashagha met with his Tunisian counterpart Hisham al-Furati in Tunis on Tuesday.

The meeting highlighted a number of issues of common concern in the security field, including simplifying procedures at border crossings and addressing the problems related to the similarity of names, as well as security cooperation and coordination in the fight against terrorism and organized crime.

The two sides agreed to conduct meetings between the joint Libyan-Tunisian security committee as soon as possible, in order to develop a mechanism for monitoring borders between the two countries and to deal with any emerging crisis that might occur at border crossings.
