The Anti-Illegal Immigration Agency has transferred about 1,200 illegal immigrants from the Airport Road detention centre to other locations in safer areas, the media advisor to agency, Milad Al-Saadi, said Wednesday.
Al-Saadi denied in a press statement the escape of migrants from the detention centres or the injury of some during the clashes, explaining that what happened is that they have moved migrants from detentions located in conflict zones to ensure their safety and protection.
He stressed that the immigrants were treated well and received the necessary medical and food assistance, noting that some were housed in shelters outside Tripoli.
