The International Committee of the Red Cross (ICRC) said it had provided food and non-food assistance to more than 8000 people returning to their homes in Al-Sabri neighbourhood of Benghazi.

The ICRC confirmed on Twitter on Tuesday that residents of the neighbourhood had been displaced and forced to leave their homes in unbearable conditions that has been witnessed in Benghazi since 2014.

It added that the families who returned to their homes were unable to provide their basic needs, which exacerbated the humanitarian crisis in the neighbourhood.
