The US ambassador to Libya, Richard Norland, has made a phone call with the Speaker of the House of Representatives (HoR), Agilah Saleh, during which he addressed several issues.

During the phone call, the two sides discussed the progress made on the elections and found a constitutional and legal base to facilitate their timely conduct, in addition to the budget of the Government of National Unity.

For his part, Saleh gave the US ambassador a briefing on the developments in the negotiations to complete the budget.

Norland welcomed the House of Representatives' support for holding the national elections as scheduled on December 24.
