President of the High Council of State, Khalid Al-Mishri has called on the Governor of the Central Bank of Libya (CBL) Saddek Elkaber to make it an offence to deal with the Russian printed currency and take all possible measures to prevent its circulation.

"The printing of currency, bypassing the Central Bank, would adversely affect the Libyan economy -being a source for those who have revolted against the legitimate authority- to finance their project aimed at destroying the country and tampering with its resources," he stated in a statement.

He also called on the CBL to take all required measures in order to prevent the circulation of this currency and to issue a circular in this regard.
