Foreign Minister of the Presidential Council (PC) Mohamed Sayala, said that a Libyan lawyer has been assigned to defend the Libyan citizens arrested recently in Italy on charges of human trafficking.

Sayala clarified during a press conference held Tuesday in Tripoli, that the Italian judiciary issued a prison sentence against Libyan nationals.

He also pointed out that his ministry is working to transfer the detainees to Libyan prisons in coordination with the Italian authorities, in order to be tried before the Libyan courts and serve their sentences in Libya.
