A medical convoy departed Tuesday from the Eye Hospital in Tripoli towards the southern region on a trip starting from the city of Ghadames and from there to Ghat, Sabha, and Al-Shati.

According to the Tripoli Eye Hospital, the convoy consists of a specialized team of doctors and nurses capable of conducting eye operations.

"The convey carries modern devices, equipment, and other supplies as part of the program to localize treatment in Libyan," the hospital said.

The initiative targets more than 200 cases that need surgical intervention in southern Libya, the hospital added, noting that the convoy has a modern portable device for operations.
