The General Authority for Radio and Television of the eastern Interim Government, issued instructions on Wednesday to manage audiovisual stations to stop broadcasting foreign FM channels within their control areas and to limit them to local radio stations.

The statement, which was published by the Libyan News Agency of the Interim Government in Bayda, stated that there are broadcast programs that serve the policies of foreign countries and promote the state of division in the country, while the need in Libya now is for national media calls for reconciliation and the fight against terrorism.

The same institution had issued a decision in February to stop broadcasting Radio Wasat permanently, Radio Wasat is broadcast from Egypt and was banned under the pretext of receiving support from the Qatar Foundation.
