Italian Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation, Luigi Di Maio, said on Tuesday that his country is able to replace the decrease in supplies from Russia with three pipelines, including Libya.

“The problem is that the price is not negotiated contracts, but the gas exchange in Amsterdam, which today is out of control, and methane prices are a hundred times higher than Asian and American exchanges”, Di Maio added, according to the Italian Nova Agency.

He also stressed the need for European legislation and diplomatic action to work to coax those few who have not yet agreed about setting gas prices again.
