The organization ‘Alarm Phone’ announced in a statement the loss of approximately 60 migrants at sea.
This happened when the engine of the boat in which the migrants were travelling caught fire off the coast of Libya.
The organization explained in the statement that the vessel was carrying in excess of 100 migrants of varying nationalities and the Libyan fishermen managed to rescue 45 of them, as witnessed by the survivors.
