The Tunisian mission in Libya supervised on Tuesday the deportation of 27 young Tunisians who were detained recently having participated in an illegal immigration process and were subsequently held in a detention center in the city of Al-Zawiya.

According to a statement by the Tunisian Consulate General in Tripoli, a team from the Consulate visited the Tunisian detainees at the detention center in coordination with the relevant Libyan authorities and granted them travel documents to return to their country of origin.

It is worth noting that the mission is currently carrying out all necessary procedural and legal efforts, in coordination with the Libyan authorities, to deport all remaining Tunisian detainees from detention centers throughout Tripoli, who are accused of participating in illegal immigration operations during the recent past.
