The Administrative Control Authority (ACA) has ordered the Libyan Foreign Ministry to end contracts of 117 employees at Libyan foreign embassies and consulates, whose work has exceeded the legally prescribed period abroad.

The ACA explained in a letter addressed to the ministry that it had found that those employees who were sent to work abroad at the Libyan embassies, consulates and international organizations, have completed their standard period (four years), but failed to adhere to the prescriptions concerning their return to work within the country.

It noted that this is regarded as a violation of the provisions of the law governing political and consular work, stressing that it will take the necessary legal action in case of failing to comply with these obligations.
