The National Center for Disease Control reported on Friday 30 new coronavirus cases in Libya, bringing its total to 239.

In its daily update on Facebook, the center explained that 17 of the newly infected people had contact with previous cases in Sabha, while one new case was recorded in the city.

Tripoli also registered nine Covid-19 new infections linked to previous patients and one new case who belongs to a resident from Barak Al-Shati region visiting the capital.

As for other cities, Sorman recorded one new infection and Misurata reported one confirmed case of a citizen coming from the city of Sabha.

At present, Libya records 182 active Covid-19 cases and five fatalities, while 52 people have recovered from the virus, according to the statistics of the National Center for Disease Control.
