A contract was signed on Tuesday between the Libyan Ports and Maritime Transport Authority and the Turkish “Temel” Company following a bidding process between relevant companies to conduct the studies and designs needed for reconstructing the Corniche area within the framework of finding a solution to the old wrecked Corniche along Tripoli's shoreline.
The signing ceremony, which was held at the Ministry of Transport, was attended by the head of the Ports and Maritime Transport Authority and director of the Turkish “Temel” company Libya branch, with the sponsorship of the Minister of Transport and Undersecretary for Ports and Maritime Transport Authority.
The contract value was stated at about 2,250,000 Libyan Dinars with a period of 10 months for preparing studies, according to the Information Office of the Ministry of Transport.
During this time, the Ports and Maritime Transport Authority will undertake rapid maintenance of the damaged area to curb the problem until completion of studies and designs aimed at providing an executive program to address the problem.
