The Chairman of National Oil Corporation Mustafa Sonallah and ENI's Chief Upstream Officer Antonio Vella held talks in the Italian city of Milano last week on the joint gas projects.

According to the Media Office of NOC, both sides discussed the workflow at the joint strategic projects currently being implemented including the project to develop the second phase of Bahr Assalam offshore field and development of the discovered gas offshore fields in the sea blocks A and D in addition to other joint projects to increase production capacity.

The office said that NOC and Eni are carrying out huge projects to increase gas production from offshore fields to meet the shortfall in the domestic market and to cover global market obligations.

Sonallah declared during the talks that works at the second phase of Bahr Assalam are in full swing, saying that the NOC will publish in few days figures about the surplus achieved by workers in the oil sector to secure the natural gas needs of the domestic market.

Vella confirmed that ENI will continue cooperation and dealing with the official NOC in Tripoli. He also expressed hope that the NOC would remain independent and away from the current crisis in Libya
