The Libyan Minister of Labour and Rehabilitation, Ali Al-Abed, has discussed with the Palestinian Labour Minister, Nasri Abu Jaish, the mechanism for implementing the memorandum of understanding signed between the two countries in the field of Libya’s recruitment of Palestinian labour in the public and private sectors.

This came during their meeting via the Zoom platform, during which Abu Jaish affirmed that Palestinian labour in Libya would contribute to the development and prosperity of the two countries.

He also indicated that any Palestinian can apply for all job opportunities needed by the Libyan labour market, stressing that medical, engineering, teaching and other professions are given priority.

For his part, Al-Abed stressed the importance of rebuilding Libyan institutions in modern ways in all economic sectors, saying that Libyan law guarantees equal treatment of the Palestinian and Libyan workers in work, education, housing, wages, and various health care services.
