The Libyan Afriqiyah Airways announced new flight route with Tunisia saying that it will operate flights to Monastir Habib Bourguiba International Airport twice a week from Tripoli-based Mitiga airport and once from Al-Baida-based Lebreg airport starting next Thursday.

Similarly, Libyan Airlines Company has also announced two flights a week from Tripoli to Monastir Habib Bourguiba International Airport in Tunisia in addition to the six weekly flights it is currently conducting to Sfax airport.

Formerly, the Tunisian authorities had extended the ban on Libyan airlines companies to land in Carthage airport in Tunis, which was met by escalating statements by the Libyan Foreign Minister, saying that Libya would close its borders with Tunisia if it continued to ban Libyan planes from touching down at the capital’s airport.
