The Libyan Basketball Federation (LBF) said that the U-17 national basketball team might not participate in the 15th Arab Basketball Championship, which will take place in Alexandria, Egypt on July 3-12, due to lack of support.

The Head of the LBF, Abdulhakim Matouk, indicated that the Federation has asked for support from sports officials in Libya since more than two months and has not received an answer, saying that if the LBF did not receive the support, it might not take part in the championship.

Teams from Egypt, Oman, United Arab Emirates, Kuwait, Tunisia, Lebanon, Saudi Arabia, and Libya have all previously confirmed their participation in the championship, knowing that the draw will take place on July 01 in the Arab Basketball Federation in Cairo, Egypt.

The first Libyan Basketball team has already left the 23rd Arab Championship that will be held in Sharm AL sheikh, Egypt on July 21-30 with teams from Egypt, Iraq, Algeria, Palestine, United Arab Emirates, and Morocco due to lack of support.
