The President of the Libyan Football Federation (LFF) Jamal Al-Jafari has said that this year's season of the Libyan Soccer League will be put off due to legal challenges lodged against the LFF Presidency by some football clubs.

In a press release after the third meeting of the LFF in Al-Marij city on Thursday, Al-Jafari said the next meeting will decide on the final date of the kickoff of the Libyan Soccer League for this season, which could be postponed till next August if the clubs did not reach consensus regarding the financial support.

"The teams taking part in the Libyan Soccer League have little financial support, which was demanded as a precondition to join the league by over 20 clubs." He indicated.

He also said that Libyan national football team will have a group of friendly matches in the near future with Morocco, Egypt and Kenya in preparation for World Cup qualifiers.

The LFF set April 18 in Tripoli as the where and when the fourth meeting in which the league's fate will be decided on.
