Libya’s national football team starts preparing Sunday for the match against São Tomé and Príncipe, which will take place in São Tomé, as part of the third round of the qualifiers for the AFCON 2017, Gabon.

Head of media committee in the Libyan Football Federation, Zain Al-Abideen Burkan, said that the first group of the national team that includes the medical and administrative crews in addition to some of the players arrived Friday in Tunisia and will travel Saturday to Cairo. Other team members will join after the end of Al-Ahli and Al-Itihad matches who are participating in the CAF leagues.

Burkan added that the Spanish coach of the Libyan team, Javier Clemente had earlier invited 23 players to join the team in the Wednesday match against São Tomé and Príncipe.

The team will head Monday to Ghana and then to São Tomé for the match, and then back to Cairo where they will play the return much on Monday, March 28.
