The Libyan Premier League would be resumed early next year, the country's Football Federation LFF announced Tuesday.

During a meeting at the federation headquarters in Tripoli, the LFF agreed to resume the league at the end of January 2016. It said the mechanism would be announced soon.

The participating teams would be split into two groups, one for the western region and the second for the eastern one, with no relegation. The top two teams in both groups would compete for the title of the league.

The league has been interrupted since 2011.
