Libya’s national beach football team enjoyed Sunday a 5-4 victory over its Moroccan counterpart to win the bronze medal in the first version of the Mediterranean Beach Games, held in Pescara, Italy from August 28 to September 06.

The national team qualified to the semi-finals following a 14-3 victory over the Albanian counterpart.

In its first match in the semi-final, Libya played against Egypt where it lost 6-5, to lose hope for the gold and silver medals.

The bronze is the first medal ever obtained by the Libyan beach team.

In addition to beach football, Libya participated in many other games including fencing, swimming, weightlifting, handball, and volleyball.
