The Libyan Football Federation has decided that Al-Ahli Tripoli should pay compensation for damages caused by its fans to the public property and infrastructure of the Tripoli International Stadium and the offices of the general sports federations.

In a statement published on Thursday, the Libyan Football Federation demanded that relevant security authorities hold all those responsible for recent events accountable, adding that they would not bow to any pressure or practices intended to obstruct and thwart their competitions.

A number of Al-Ahli Tripoli fans entered the Tripoli international Stadium and vandalized some of its facilities as well as setting fire to them in protest against the decision of the Libyan Football Federation to play a re-match against Al-Ittihad in the semi-finals of the Libyan Cup.
