Libya’s national football team beat Congo on Sunday on penalties 5-3 and qualified for the CHAN 2018 semifinal in the game that ended 1-1 at Agadir’s stadium in Morocco.

Libya scored first by Saleh Al-Taher at the minute 15 before Congo had tied the score at the minute 37 of the first half.

Libya put out a very remarkable performance from the start with focus on scoring goals to maintain its chance to reach the semifinal and Congo was on the attack as well looking for a chance to score and secure the next round for themselves.

The match’s ending whistle brought the two teams to the extra time and over the thirty minutes, the two teams left it all on the pitch but without scoring the winner.

On penalties, Libya scored five times and Congo three time to announce the Mediterranean Knights winners and qualify for the semifinal of CHAN 2018, where they will play the host Morocco on Wednesday, while Nigeria will play Sudan in the second semifinal match.
