The General Authority for Horse Racing inaugurated Friday the first edition of "The Peace Cup of Libya" under the patronage of the General Authority for Culture.

Fans and lovers of horse racing filled Abu Sittah track in Tripoli to watch more than 350 jockeys from all over Libya competing for the title of the race.

The organizers aim to preserve the cultural heritage that has a time-honored tradition of adhering and association with equestrian.

The race will be held on Fridays for five weeks, ending on October 13.
