On Friday, the Mediterranean Knights gave their Egyptian hosts a hard time at the 2022 FIFA World Cup qualification match, which ended with a 1-0 win for Egypt.

The national team managed to keep the score to a zero tie throughout the first half of the match that took place at the Burj Al Arab stadium in Alexandria.

They also held off a wave of desperate attacks in the second half until Omar Marmoush opened the deadlock in the 49th minute for Egypt.

The two teams will meet next Monday at the Benina Martyrs Stadium in Benghazi as part of the fourth round of the World Cup qualifying matches.

With this win, the Egyptians top Group F with seven points, while Libya slipped down to second place with six points, then comes Angola with three points and Gabon trailing with one point at the bottom of the ladder.
