Libya's national football team lost Wednesday a third-round 2022 Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) qualifier game 2-3 to Equatorial Guinea at Al-Ahly Stadium in Cairo, Egypt.

Equatorial Guinea scored first at the minute 33 in the first half but Libya leveled the score by a penalty from Sanad El-Werfalli at the minute 53 of the match.

At the minute 57, Libya managed  to score its second goal by Mohammed Beltamer and kept the game going on in its direction to bag the three points until the minute 90, when Equatorial Guinea scored the second goal and a third one as well to turn the score of the match to its benefit and secure the three points.

Libya now stands at the third place with three points with a direct match difference to Equatorial Guinea, which is now stands at second.

Equatorial Guinea will play Libya home next Sunday. Libya needs to win two of the three remaining matches to stay in the competition for a place at the 2022 AFCON. Tunisia heads the group with six points.
