The draw for the 2022 CAF Confederation Cup group stage was held on Tuesday at the Confederation of African Football (CAF) headquarters in Egypt.

Libya has two teams in the competition, including Al-Ittihad, which secured its ticket in the CAF Group Stage after the Nigerian Enyimba failed to make it to the away game fixed in Benghazi due to traveling issues.

Al-Ahly Tripoli and the runner-up of the local league competition in the last edition was drawn in Group A.

Al-Ahly will face Pyramids of Egypt, runners-up and semi-finalists in the last two editions, three-time Confederation Cup winners CS Sfaxien of Tunisia and Zanaco of Zambia.

On the other hand, Al Ittihad was placed in Group B alongside Algeria’s JS Saoura, South Africa’s Orlando Pirates, and JS Kabylie of Algeria.

The matches will begin on February 12th with Al-Ittihad playing against the Algerian JS Kabylie team and Al-Ahly facing the Egyptian Pyramids.
