Adel Amrouche, a Belgian-Algerian 50-year-old coach, has been contracted by the Libyan Football Federation (LFF) as a manager of Libyan national soccer team, the LFF said on Facebook.

Amrouche to coach Libya at the qualifications for 2019 CAF Cup of Nations, which will be held in Cameroon, which will be a tough challenge as Libya is in a group that includes South Africa and Nigeria.

Amrouche arrived in Tripoli Saturday for contract negotiations.

The LFF did not speak about the contract details, yet some sources say it is a one-year-renewable contract.

The Belgian-Algerian started his career coaching Brussels FC in 1995 among others. Later he became manager of Equatorial Guinea in 2004, Burundi 2007-2012 then Kenya in 2013-2014, besides Algerian teams.

Meanwhile, the LFF ended the contract of the Libyan coach Omar Al-Maryami after finishing CHAN last January, when Libya reached the semifinals.
