Al-Ahly Tripoli lost to its host Biashara United of Tanzania 2-0 in Dar es Salaam on Friday in the first leg of the second preliminary round of the African Confederation Cup.

The Libyan team didn’t come out strong enough, allowing the hosts to advance 1-0 before the halftime whistle.

The match seemed relatively even, with both teams unable to create real chances. Al-Ahly Tripoli relied on counter-attacks to no avail.

Biashara United continued their play with long balls that gave fruit minutes after the restart, extending their lead with a 2-0.

Al-Ahly failed to create enough chances and wasted multiple opportunities in the second half as well.

The two teams will meet again at the Beninah Martyrs Stadium in Benghazi on October 23.
