Despite losing the second leg match to Fath Union Sport in Morocco 3-1 in Morocco, Al-Ahli Tripoli managed to qualify for the groups round of the CAF Champions League, thanks to the goal scored by Anis Saltu.

Al-Ahli qualified after it drew with the Moroccan team 3-3 on aggregation of the first and second leg matches.

Al-Ahli Tripoli won its first leg match 2-0 at the 32-round of the competition.

Fath Union Sport scored its first two gaols at the Saturday-held match in the first half, then Al-Ahli managed to score a goal in the opening of the second half, which was ended with a third goal for Fath Union Sport at the last minute of the match. However, the score did not help the Moroccan team to qualify for the next round.
