Ya Biladi political party said the efforts to hold elections in Libya to enable certain parties or individuals or pass some foreign agenda and unjust electoral legislations would have devastating results that deepen the political division in the country.

The party, chaired by the Head of the former General National Congress Nuri Abu Sahmain, said in a statement that stability in Libya is contingent on removing all those who were the cause of suffering for Libyans, carried out attacks and violations of human rights, especially "war criminal Khalifa Haftar".

It also rejected the statement of the US ambassador to Libya, Richard Norland, about the participation of Haftar in the political process or in building and unifying the Libyan military institution as he is implicated in cases of war crimes, including in US courts.

Ya Biladi referred also to the recent statement of former UN envoy to Libya, Ghassan Salame, who confirmed that Haftar was directly responsible for destruction in Libya and the failure of previous political processes.

"Haftar himself said lately that he won't be under the command of any authority, which shows that he won't recognize the results of any political process; a behavior he has always done toward previous political agreements." The statement added.
