A leader of Awaqir tribe, Musa Namir Aqwri, escaped an assassination attempt after a car bomb exploded outside his house in Suluq town, 53 kilometers to the southeast of Benghazi, on Saturday.
Local sources said part of the exterior wall of the house was destroyed while no casualties were recorded in the blast.
The perpetrators are yet to be known. No further details were given.
Awaqir tribe leader Braik Al-Lwati was killed in a car bomb explosion in Suluq in May 2017.
