The US-Libya Business Association (USLBA) has expressed concern about what it described as the political uncertainty, the mobilization of armed groups, and the oil and gas closures in Libya, which is casting a shadow over the business environment and affecting the lives of Libyans.

This came during the USLBA members’ meeting with the US Ambassador to Libya, Richard Norland in Washington on Thursday, where they discussed the current political and economic developments affecting US-Libyan relations, with a focus on Libya's potential for economic growth.

The American companies want to help develop energy resources in Libya as well as new opportunities in emerging energies, including finance, communications and information technology, to stimulate comprehensive economic development, reconstruction and job creation for Libyans, the members of the association added.

They also renewed their commitment to finding innovative solutions and helping Libya access the American expertise to face challenges.

For his part, Norland praised the USLBA's efforts aimed at strengthen trade relations between the two countries.
