The United States Department of State has issued a statement backing up the action plan announced by the UN envoy to Libya, Ghassan Saalme, stressing that no support will be given to any individuals who will try to circumvent the UN-led political process.

The US said in the statement issued on Friday that Salame's approach to Libyan leaders and call on all Libyans to support and engage in his mediation efforts are very helpful and straight to the point, where a solution for lasting peace can be discerned.

"The Libyan Political Agreement (LPA) remains the framework for a political solution to the conflict throughout the transition period.” The statement indicates.

It also explained that the US is strongly in support of the UN facilitation as the Libyan people carry out this critical transition, specifically by seeking to negotiate mutually-agreed limited amendments to the LPA, adopt a new constitution, and prepare for national elections.

"The United States remains committed to working with Libya, the UN, and international partners to help advance political reconciliation, defeat terrorism, and promote a more stable future for the Libyan people." The statement further explains.

Meanwhile, Libyans prepare to see an individualistic-proposed demonstration on September 25, led by the former nominee for the Libyan Premier post, Basit Igtet, who said Saturday morning on his Facebook page that he will arrive in Tripoli on Sunday, one day before the protest.
