Four U.S. Senators from both the Democratic and Republican parties, namely, Lindsey Graham, Chris Coons, Todd Young, and Chris Murphy, have expressed their support for the Libyan Political Dialogue Forum members as they meet in Geneva to establish the constitutional basis and legal framework for December elections.

"We wish to convey our support and encouragement for the difficult decisions you must make this week in order to sustain positive momentum in the Libyan political process," the Senators said in a joint statement Wednesday.

Addressing the LPDF members, the senators stressed that the outcomes of Geneva meetings would have a crucial bearing on securing a democratic state in Libya and the interests of its people.

However, they did acknowledge that there are risks and benefits in any democratic process, which requires compromise to reach a consensus.

The statement also expressed confidence that such a step would lay the groundwork for a robust and beneficial relationship between the United States and Libya for decades to come.

"We can assure all concerned that America is watching and hoping for the best for the Libyan people."
