The United States said it will continue to work with international and Libyan partners to end the violence in the country.

The US embassy added in a statement commemorating the 9/11 attacks that the US is going to pursue its support for the UN-led political process in Libya and will help all Libyans to achieve stability and peace.

"We hail the cooperation of Libyan partners in assisting the US in bringing to justice those who killed the US ambassador and other Americans in the Benghazi consulate attack of 2012." The statement reads.

"In the same spirit, we mourn the loss of so many Libyan lives lost in the violence the country has experienced since 2011." The embassy added.

Marking September 11th

"Today we pause to remember the 2,977 people who perished on September 11 2001. We solemnly reflect on the lives lost and honor our brave first responders devoted to helping others.

We are also mourning the loss of our former U.S. Embassy to Libya colleagues, Ambassador Christopher Stevens, Sean Smith, Tyrone Woods, and Glen Doherty who were tragically killed in Benghazi September 11 and 12, 2012." The statement reads.
