The US ambassador to Libya, Richard Norland has praised Denmark for its support for the local elections in Libya.

Ambassador Norland met with the Danish Ambassador to Libya Julie Pruzan-Jorgensen on Tuesday, where he conveyed the US gratitude for Denmark's "substantial" contribution of $800,000 as part of a bilateral agreement between the two countries to support local elections in Libya in addition to a contribution of $1 million in 2018.

In a statement, the US embassy said that Norland described Denmark's efforts as an excellent example of the international community supporting Libya's political process.

The two parties discussed the ongoing collaborations in Libya, including support for municipal elections and the Central Commission of Municipal Council Elections (CCMCE). They also discussed assistance efforts to support national elections scheduled for December 24, 2021, according to the US embassy.
