The United States' embassy in Libya has rejected some Libyan personalities' pursuit of personal gains at the expense of Libyan people's greater good.

The US embassy said on Twitter Friday: "we strongly support UNSMIL’s message and recognize Fayez Al-Sarraj’s political courage in signaling a willingness to set aside personal interests for the benefit of the Libyan people".

The US embassy in Libya also indicated that now is the time for all Libyan leaders to work through the UN-facilitated process to reclaim their country’s sovereignty.

"A various elements seek to pursue their own narrow interests, a transparent and inclusive Intra-Libyan dialogue should be the guiding principle as Libyans take charge of their political future and their national resources". The embassy added.

Meanwhile, the member of the Presidential Council Ahmed Mitig agreed - individually - with Khalifa Haftar's son, Khalid, in Sochi; Russia, to a deal that saw Haftar announce reopening of Libyan oil ahead of forming a joint committee to oversee the fair distribution of revenues across Libya.
