The United States Embassy to Libya has invited graduates of US government-sponsored exchange programs to apply for the Alumni Engagement Innovation Fund (AEIF 2021).

The embassy explained in a statement on its official website that the proposals must include teams of at least two alumni that meet all program eligibility requirements.

"AEIF provides alumni of U.S. sponsored and facilitated exchange programs with funding to expand on skills gained during their exchange experience to design and implement innovative solutions to global challenges facing their community," the US embassy said, noting that proposals should be submitted by March 28, for consideration.

The embassy indicated that it will focus on proposals that are key to strengthening national unity and peacebuilding.

It explained that it seeks to achieve this goal through positive youth participation, leadership development, community service, women's empowerment, inclusion initiatives, and civil society strengthening.

The embassy further indicated that it would seek proposals that focus on innovation, entrepreneurship, science, technology, engineering, arts and mathematics (STEAM) initiatives, as well as strengthening national unity through arts and culture.
