The United States (US) hailed through its embassy in Libya the progress made in Libya’s security track towards a unified military institution, commending the efforts of the Chief of Staff of the Libyan Army Mohammed Al-Haddad and Khalifa Haftar's forces' Chief of Staff Abdelrazik Al-Nathori, as well as the Joint Military Commission (JMC -5+5).

The US embassy added on Twitter on Wednesday that Washington continues to support full implementation of the October 2020 ceasefire agreement including the withdrawal of all foreign forces, fighters, and mercenaries.

The UN Advisor on Libya, Stephanie Williams, said she was heartened by the outcome of the meeting between Al-Haddad and Al-Nathori, adding that it had built upon the hard work of the JMC 5+5 since the 2020 ceasefire agreement.

"Their spirit of cooperation and compromise is a model for the political class." Williams added on Twitter on Wednesday.

JMC concluded meetings in Tripoli on Tuesday in the presence of Al-Haddad and Al-Nathori.
