The US Africa Command said it had killed 11 ISIS militants in an airstrike in the vicinity of Murzuq in coordination with the Presidential Council's government in Tripoli.

“This airstrike was conducted to eliminate ISIS terrorists and deny them the ability to conduct attacks on the Libyan people. This effort demonstrates the resolve of the US and our Libyan partners to deny safe havens to terrorists." The US Army Major General William Gayler, director of operations, US Africa Command said.

US Africa Command added that it continues to support diplomatic efforts to stabilize the political situation in Libya and disrupt terrorist organizations that threaten regional stability.

A few days ago, US Africa Command said it had killed eight ISIS militants in an airstrike in the vicinity of Murzuq in southern Libya.
